Lastly, Snodgrass & Duff are committed to ongoing professional development and cultural competency through training, allyship, continuing education, and appropriate consultation.

    1. When scheduling your 15 minute complimentary consult. Inform your provider (Shelbi Snodgrass or Simone Duff) that you have coverage through the Health Benefits Program.

    2. The 15 minute complementary consult objectives include determining if the practitioner is the right fit for you. You can change to another Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) at any time.

    3. Once you decide to move forward with counselling, both the practitioner and client will fill out and sign the Provider Mental Health Pre-Determination Form. The practitioner will submit the document for approval.

    4. The practitioner will receive a letter outlining how many sessions and funding is available; a request for additional funding can be resubmitted after the allocated sessions have been completed.

    5. Once steps 1-4 are completed, the practitioner will contact you to arrange the initial session (approximately 4 weeks).

    6. Health Benefits does not pay for missed or late cancelled appointments. Please note we hold a credit card on file and our 24 hour cancellation policy applies or you will be charged for your appointment.

Practitioners and clients will proactively develop a plan for when you are physically close to someone else. For example, the conversation could be paused for a short time period or the time may be used to engage in a mindfulness exercise. If your practitioner should encounter a person they know they will not acknowledge you as a client, or the nature of the walk as professional service, to preserve confidentiality. You may request that future sessions take place in a different format at any point in time.
